How can we use the blue economy and marine and maritime resources to boost overall economic growth of the countries in the Adriatic/Ionian and Mediterranean area? The conference “Innovation for the sustainable use of marine and maritime resources in our Seas” organized on 7-9 June in Budva, Montenegro within the Blue Wave Week Montenegro 2022, will seek to answer this key question through a series of panel discussions.
The Conference is organized in the framework of EU-funded projects BLUEAIR and SHIPmEnTT PLUS financed by the Interreg ADRION Programme and BLUEfasma financed by the Interreg MED Programme. The aim of the event is to shed some light on the development of blue economy with particular linkage to Smart Specialisation Strategy, circular economy in the blue sectors, potentials offered by fishing and aquaculture, innovation and technology transfer opportunities, intellectual property rights, blue skills and others. During the three-day event key international speakers, EU funded projects’ representatives, quadruple-helix actors will address these areas by taking part in the discussion on different topics, sharing their insights and perspectives.
In addition to the plenary sessions and discussions initiated on the relevant topics, the event will particularly focus on the deliberations of different blue projects implemented across the Adriatic, Ionian and Mediterranean area, as well as put a focus on sharing best practices and recommendations to spark and strengthen synergies in the area of blue growth.
The event will be held at Splendid Conference & Spa Resort in Budva, Montenegro and online, and will have interpretation services in English and Montenegrin.
